After reading the previous ‘review’ I have to be very skeptical of it.
The fact that the book was released in February and the reviewer states “It is now 2 1/2 years after I first started to practice…” means that they are not reviewing the book, but the book writer and his practices. I would almost think that the person has a vested interest in the success of the book.
I may buy it yet, since I have only recently realized that I have prostatitis. I will listen to my physician’s recommendations first, then look to alternative therapies, usually under the supervision of my physician. If you find that you are not comfortable enough to do the same, then I would suggest that you get a new physician, until you find one that will not only be responsible, but listen to your thoughts also. I fired 4 physicians before I found the one that I currently have, you can too. Doctors aren’t gods, they need your business, not the other way around.

This book is full of UN-helpful ideas, like pain is caused by being uptight, by sexual shame, or by unfufillment. It is very old-fashioned and unscientific, like it was written by a “quack.” Who cares what came first - pain or depression? YOU know you have a physical pain that needs to be addressed. If you want to try trigger point therapy, look for a better book than this one (Clair Davies is good). If you want to try relaxation techniques, look for a better book or take a class. If you want to try medication, I found major relief with the prescription Effexor. This book is not at all helpful.

Headache in the Pelvis 5th Edition
I’m only half way thru the book, but it has been very relevant to my situation. It contains more information about this problem than I have ever found anywhere else. A little disappointing that the intro suggests that the book provides a self help solution, but the material in the book says professional help is likely needed. But I am trying to practice its recommendations anyway. This book is worth it just for the extensive info it provides, and has potential to help lots more.

This is an amazing book! If you have pelvic pain, you really owe it to yourself to read it. It is easy to understand. It’s not like anything you heard your doctor tell you and their results, which they published in the Journal of Urology, are remarkable.
